A useful Creatures of Sonaria creature list must answer more than “does this name exist?” It should tell you whether the entry is a species or subspecies, its size tier, diet, mobility, current obtainability, release or return context, and where to verify its live stats. Because the roster changes, this page uses a dated lookup method and a current-change watchlist rather than pretending a copied total will remain complete forever.

A second independently maintained guide reported the same total from the same underlying module on 2026-08-17. This is Community corroborated, not an official permanent count. New weekly additions, subspecies, removals, and data corrections can change it.
The same sources divide the roster across five size tiers and several obtainability routes. Use the current in-game collection for ownership and the Recode Creature Stats List for fields. Never merge Legacy rows into the count.

Size tier runs from Tiny through Huge in the current Recode references. It is a scale classification, not a power score. Larger bodies often trade mobility and ease of concealment for health, weight, or damage. Smaller bodies can cross terrain, hide, and complete collection routes that are awkward for a Huge creature.
Diet determines which food sources support a route. Current stat references distinguish carnivore, herbivore, omnivore, photocarnivore, and photovore fields. Do not choose food by its color alone; read the live diet icon and interaction prompt.
Mobility includes terrestrial, semi-aquatic, aquatic, glider, flier, all-terrain, and combination categories in current community data. Match mobility to the session: a flier can connect distant landmarks, an aquatic creature can use underwater routes, and a terrestrial creature may control land combat without risking shore transitions.
Filter by obtainability
Other routes can include login rewards, Time Points, Robux offers, badge history, role-limited distribution, and special promotions. Do not infer availability from rarity or visual quality. Read the current acquisition field for the exact species.
Find a creature in the live game
Open the collection or creature selection area and search the exact name. Inspect whether the entry is owned, unowned, trial/stored, a species, or a subspecies. Then open Creature Info to read diet, tier, mobility, age-dependent stats, abilities, traits, mutations, and controls. On PC, the official description points to K for current controls.
If the name is absent, check spelling and aliases before deciding it was removed. A redesign may keep the species name while changing the silhouette. A subspecies may appear beside its base creature or in a distinct filter. A historical guide may refer to Legacy or an event preview that never entered the normal roster.
Choose from the list
Name the player job: first-life survival, region missions, map discovery, token collection, nesting, support, solo combat, pack combat, or collection. Eliminate entries whose diet and mobility conflict with the route. Compare growth commitment and obtainability. Only then open Creature Stats for a numeric profile.
Keep two candidates: a preferred choice and a replaceable fallback. If the preferred creature is rare, slow to grow, or unfamiliar, learn the route with the fallback first. This protects valuable stored slots and produces better information than a theoretical list.
Keep your personal Dex current
Record name, species/subspecies, tier, diet, mobility, acquisition, owned copies, stored slots, last live check, and a link to the current source. Leave stats in the dedicated stats record so a balance update can be refreshed without rebuilding the whole collection.
For an event entry, add year, week, and current status. For a trade-only entry, add the last observed source and never label a value official. For a redesigned creature, keep the redesign date separate from any stat change.
